Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified to be Detailed at gamescom

While the PlayStation Vita’s Black Ops spinoff is set to release later this year, we’ve heard next to nothing about the game since Sony debuted a logo for the game at its E3 press conference a few months ago. Fortunately, it looks like we’ll finally get some solid information next week, as Activision is set to unveil some concrete details about the game at gamescom.

According to a report from CVG, the latest issue of MCV confirms the game’s presence at next week’s show in Germany. Activision’s European VP and GM of the Santa Monica business unit Michael Sportouch said that gamers “can really expect us to deliver a true Call of Duty experience.”

“We are really excited about the opportunities that the Vita could offer us in terms of connecting with a new audience,” he added.

The Vita’s sales have failed to live up to Sony’s expectations, but perhaps a solid Call of Duty title can turn things around for the platform in a big way. It looks like we’ll find out next week if Declassified has the potential to be that killer app for the western audience.
