PSN Users Affected by ‘Free’ Game and DLC Issue Last Week Are Getting Refunds in “1-3 Weeks” (Update: You Keep the Games)

Update: Morgan Haro tweeted today that “everyone affected retained their entitlements to the games.”

Original Story: We let you know last week of a widespread problem on the PlayStation Network that found many games and DLC listed as free, but when you went to actually buy them, you’d be charged full price. Well, after nearly 7 days of waiting, Morgan Haro updated the official forum post regarding this situation with an update that tells you how you’ll receive your money back:

We’re finalzing gathering the users affected by the issue. Refund notifications will be pushed to PS3 inboxes (accessed on the XMB) within 1 – 3 weeks; but we’ll be working on ensuring they arrive as soon as possible. If your bank account was charged, your bank account will receive the refund. Thank you for your patience.

So, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer to get a refund, though if you haven’t done so yet, we recommend that you call Sony at 1-800-345-7669 to tell them that you were affected by this and want your money back.

Are you happy with waiting a couple of weeks for your money? Let us know in the comments below.
