Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Getting Microtransactions “Soon”, Nuketown 2025 Going Free for Everyone

Coming to “other consoles soon,” Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be getting optional in-game purchases, or Micro Items as they like to call them (or microtransactions, as we like to call them). These add-ons involve personal customization or luxuries, with nothing you buy affecting the gameplay in any way.

Full details regarding all of the items haven’t been shared, but they will be offered in various Personalization Packs, each coming with a unique weapon camo, three targeting reticules, and a custom Calling Card for around $2. One example of these is a Bacon Personalization Pack, where you can wrap your weapon in, you guessed it, bacon.

Looking elsewhere, the Nuketown 2025 pre-order map is going to go free for everyone, and, assuming the PS3 follows the Xbox 360, Nuketown Zombies will be sold for $5.

There’s also going to be an Extra Slots Pack available for $2, where you get 10 Create-a-Class slots and significantly expanded media storage, allowing you to archive 20 more emblems, 32 more films, and 40 more screenshots. Finally, many Flags of the World Calling Card Packs are going to be sold for $1 each and will be divided up by region, giving you flag-themed Calling Cards.

Since none of this is currently dated, stay tuned to PSLS for when all of this will hit the PS3.
