The Catch-Up: July 19th, 2013 – SoulCalibur 2 HD Online Out This Fall, See How Massive Prepared for The Division E3 2013 Reveal

General News

  • SoulCalibur 2 HD Online was announced at Comic-Con today for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s out this fall and is being developed by Project Soul, with the game getting online multiplayer (which features brand new netcode) and HD graphics. You can also expect the modes found within the original release, but no mention was made as to whether we can expect Spawn or Link in the game, with Heihachi seemingly confirmed at Comic-Con already.   • The PlayStation 3 version of Worms Revolution will be getting a patch later this year in order to add all the new functionality associated with Worms Revolution Extreme (Cross Gifting, etc) on PlayStation Vita. The patch also includes a fix for the Flawless Mission trophy. [Source]
  • No collector’s edition for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. [Source]
  • As a bit of a follow-up on Mutant Mudds coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Jools Watsham of Renegade Kid let us know that they plan on supporting Cross Saves between the two versions. We’ll let you know about any further information about Mutant Mudds on PlayStation. [PR]

  • The EU online PlayStation Store has Splinter Cell: Blacklist up for pre-order, meaning that it’s going to be a Day 1 Digital title this August. [Source]
  • A Tomb Raider comic is scheduled to release in February 2014, with it taking place “just a few weeks after the end of the game, and this is all in continuity, it will be Tomb Raider canon, and lead directly into the sequel.” Can’t wait! [Source]
