‘Redeem Voucher’ Option “Suspended” on the European PlayStation Network (Update: North America Also)

Update: The PlayStation Support Twitter account has confirmed that the Redeem Voucher feature in North America has been “suspended temporarily” as well:

The “Redeem Voucher” functionality on PSN has been suspended temporarily while the network issues are investigated.

Original Story: After pre-emptively disabling the What’s New and Content Information features for PlayStation 4 to help make the launch a little easier on the PlayStation Network, Sony has now “suspended” the Redeem Voucher feature due to heavy PSN load.

Fred Dutton, SCEE Blog Manager, revealed this information on the EU PS Blog:

We are aware that users are experiencing some disruption to the PSN service.

To minimize the inconvenience we have suspended the “redeem voucher” functionality whilst we investigate further. Unfortunately this means that money cards, product vouchers, PlayStation Plus vouchers, PS3-PS4 upgrade vouchers and any other vouchers for digital content are not redeemable at this stage. Other PSN features such as log-in, online multi-player gaming, PlayStation Plus trial, PS Store (excluding voucher redemption), trophies, messages, friends etc. are all available.

We apologize and will provide an update to this announcement soon.
