Contrast Leaving the PS4’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection on January 7th, 2014

While Europe knows to expect news of their January 2014 Instant Game Collection very soon, those in North America will likely be kept in the dark until the first week of January, but Compulsion Games has revealed when we can expect a new PS4 game being added to the IGC.

Speaking to Edge, Compulsion Games Studio Head Guillaume Provost brought up the sales for Contrast so far by saying, “It’s still early and we don’t have accurate sales data for all platforms yet, but we’re definitely most active on PS4. The game is free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers until January 7th, so there’s a much larger user base on that platform.”

“Our experience on PS4 has been really good, but then again, we’re currently free on that platform, “Provost continued. “It’s also easier to get attention on a new platform when you’re out at launch because there’s fewer games for players to choose from.”

So, with Contrast leaving on January 7th, this means we should expect Don’t Starve to be added in its place. With Don’t Starve being given a January 7th release date on the SEN website, you can pretty much bet on it at this point.

Here’s Don’t Starve’s description:

Don’t Starve: Console Edition is an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic. You play as Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped by a demon and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. Wilson must learn to exploit his environment and its inhabitants if he ever hopes to escape and find his way back home.

This news also means that Resogun is likely to stay in the IGC for the entire month of January, but stay tuned for confirmation.
