PS4 Was the #1 Selling Next-Gen Console in November 2013, Sony Responds (Update: New Video Celebrates the Sales)

Update: PlayStation posted this new video in celebration of the PS4 being so successful worldwide:

Original Story: We’re likely minutes away from hearing the full NPD US retail sales results for November 2013, but Sony has sent out information that confirms the PlayStation 4 was the #1 selling next-gen console during the month of November 2013 for both hardware and software, according to the NPD.

Jack Tretton, President and CEO of SCEA, responded to this news:

PlayStation 4 sales in North America and worldwide have been incredibly strong since launch, culminating in PS4 being recognized as the largest console launch in history. In North America alone, more than one million PS4 units were sold in only 24 hours and we’re pleased NPD has reported that PS4 was the top selling next gen platform for both hardware and software in November. We are humbled by the passion and excitement demonstrated by gamers for PS4. Demand continues to overwhelm supply, but we’re working hard to get PS4 units into the hands of customers throughout the holiday season.

We’ll let you know the full NPD results when they roll in, but this news seems to confirm that Michael Pachter was correct in his prediction of the PS4 selling really well during November.

What do you think the overall #2 selling game of November (after Call of Duty: Ghosts) will be? Let us know in the comments below.
