“Nothing to Share” on 14 for ’14 PlayStation Store Sale; Morgan Haro Talks Sale Scheduling

While PlayStation owners in Europe are living the high life with a PlayStation Store sale that goes through January 2014, those of us in North America didn’t get a single game or piece of DLC on sale last week, with this week just bringing a small discount for PlayStation Plus members on new release Streetkix: Freestyle for PSP.

Over on the US PS Blog, the possibility of a 14 for ’14 sale was brought up (the one last year started on January 22nd) by a commenter, with Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer replying, “Nothing to share on that at this time. I’m not sure if we’ll be doing it or not.” If Sony does decide to do one, we’ll let you know.

Also on the subject of sales, Community Project Manager Morgan Haro explained why they aren’t able to give us information about offers more than a day or two in advance:

Thanks for the note on this one, but for now we can only really preview out what the sales are week by week, mostly because things can change leading up to the start of the sale. Not for every game that is scheduling a deal, but for some, it can happen. With that margin for change in effect, it wouldn’t be good to preview out sales, then have to backtrack on it. Hope that makes sense!

Nothing saying it can’t change in the future, but for now, we can only give a window of upcoming sales for the week, but thanks again for the note!

If there is a 14 for ’14 sale, what do you hope to see? Let us know in the comments below.
