PlayStation Teases a PlayStation Vita 2000 Western Unveiling for Next Week

Be sure to mark your calendars for Thursday, January 30th, as that is when PlayStation will be having a “breakfast briefing” at 9AM (looks to be GMT, which would translate to 4AM ET and 1AM PT) that lasts for two hours. Details weren’t given out as to exactly what it is for, but the above invitation obtained by IGN does give this hint:

Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.

Obviously the PS4 is the biggest launch in their history, and the “slimmest” could be referring to the slimmer PlayStation Vita 2000, which has been available in Japan for a few months now. A Western release in North America and Europe for the Vita 2000 has been hoped for ever since Sony first unveiled it, so this seems to have the best odds of having.

Or it could be yet another, slimmer PS3, a PS Vita TV announcement, or a random PS4 slim. We’ll just have to wait until this Thursday to find out, so stay tuned.
