Adam Boyes Pokes Fun at Xbox One’s Launch Parity Policy

Having a little fun at the expense of Microsoft’s “launch parity” policy for indie titles, where games have to launch on Xbox One at the same time as other platforms, is Adam Boyes, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at PlayStation.

On Twitter last night, he sent out this image, with the caption: “In the interest of transparency, I want to share our Dev clause that lists which platforms you cannot release on:”

Boyes went on to point out that there are 14 indie titles on PS4 at the moment, “tons more to come,” and TowerFall: Ascension is at 90 on Metacritic.

Being fair, developers told Edge that Microsoft seems to have eased up on their launch parity clause with the Xbox One somewhat, and Microsoft themselves said, “Our goal is not to limit developers who are interested in Xbox One. In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we’ll work with them on a case by case basis.”
