Japanese Sales Chart: PS4 Drops by 10,000, Natural Doctrine Debuts in 20th

Last week was very weak in Japan (the tax hike is more than likely to blame), with Mario Party: Island Tour topping the charts with 47,106 copies sold, and Just Dance Wii U the #1 new release, placing in 5th and selling just 18,403.

Easily the biggest disappointment is Natural Doctrine, which launched for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, but only the PS Vita finished in the top 20 (at #20) by moving only 6,046 units. There’s always a chance Natural Doctrine did very well over on the PlayStation Store, but since these charts don’t account for digital sales, we have no way of knowing.

The low numbers also continued on the hardware side, with the PS Vita dropping over 14,000 compared to last week, the PS3 dropping over 6,000, and the PS4 dropping 10,000 to finish with just 13,401 consoles sold.

Here’s how each system sold, along with the top 20 selling games in Japan between March 31st – April 6th, 2014, according to Media Create:
