Essentially protecting themselves from any future The Last Guardian cancellation rumors, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida spoke with Polygon this week at E3, revealing that, if the game is ever cancelled, they’ll let us know:
I will say this: When we cancel a title and it is something we have announced already, we’ll say so.
It’s a highly anticipated title, we have to do so.
Additionally, Yoshida said that he was “heartbroken” when the original rumor came out:
It exists. The team is working hard on it. I was heartbroken when some article came out on some major site saying it was cancelled.
Although he’s played the game, Shuhei wouldn’t go into any further detail about The Last Guardian, so we’ll just have to keep waiting.
