While we’ve already been introduced to Troy Baker’s Pagan Min, Ajay Ghale, Far Cry 4’s protagonist, hasn’t previously been shown. That all changed yesterday when the Far Cry Twitter account gave us the above image of him, saying, “Meet #FarCry4 protagonist Ajay Ghale: Kyrat native, devoted son, and Pagan Min’s guest of honor.” If the previously leaked details about Ghale are true, he returned to Kyrat to fulfill his mother’s dying wish.
One of the fun things you’ll be able to do with Ghale in Far Cry 4 is use elephants as both weapons and transportation. The response at E3 for this feature was overwhelmingly positive, something that came as a surprise to Ubisoft, as Level Design Director Mark Thompson told GameSpot:
We knew we had something cool with the elephant, but it’s caught us by surprise just how excited people are by the prospect of the elephant.
The fact that it’s part vehicle, part weapon … and it’s just generating so many more player stories than we thought. It’s great to see just how excited people get when they get hands on with that elephant.
Far Cry 4 will be available for the PS3 and PS4 on November 18th in North America and November 20th in Europe.
