Naughty Dog Teases The Last of Us PS4 Has Reached 60fps

With a month to go before The Last of Us Remastered launches for the PS4, Naughty Dog still hasn’t officially confirmed whether or not the game hit their target of 60fps (or given us a proper gameplay video or screenshots). Despite this, the developers behind the game haven’t stopped teasing that they have indeed hit their goal, with Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann having a little fun:

Bruce: I had a dream in 60fps last night.

Neil: What if I told you that was no dream? #believe

Kurt Margenau, Lead Game Designer on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, then said, “Played some #TLOU at 60fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformitive. I’m a believer. Don’t think I can go back.” This would pretty much confirm the entire game will be at 60fps, but again, Naughty Dog still hasn’t officially confirmed it will happen, as the game is still in the final stages of development.

As well, Naughty Dog’s Drew Thaler talked about The Last of Us Remastered:

This is next-gen for me: compared to PS3, PS4 TLOU:R is loading higher-res data and WAY more of it to fill 8 GiB, and it’s *still* faster.

Take a full disc. Up-rez literally everything (incl audio). Add 1GB MP maps, 5GB Left Behind. Fit on same disc. Load faster. Sixty.

When comparing The Last of Us to The Last of Us Remastered, Thaler said, “Side-by-side it’s just crazy how much better it is than PS3.”

So, while multiple Naughty Dog developers are teasing 60fps for the game, we’ll just have to keep waiting a little longer before finding out if it is indeed true.

The Last of Us Remastered launches on July 29 in North America and July 30 in Europe.
