After missing its originally planned Q1 2014 release date, Blue Isle Studios and publisher Midnight City have announced that Slender: The Arrival will come to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 23 in North America and September 24 in Europe for $9.99.
Adding new story elements and extended content over the PC version of Slender: The Arrival (PC players will get the console DLC for free), here’s what Midnight City had to say about the game:
Slender: The Arrival, the official Slender Man game, was written by the creative team behind Marble Hornets. The story centers on an unwitting participant in the Slender Man mythos whom walks into a mystery that just keeps pulling her in deeper. Lauren, a realtor helping a friend sell her property arrives at Kate’s home just to find a cryptic note and an empty house. Powering up her camcorder, Lauren takes off in search of Kate, but unbeknownst to her something ancient, dark and other-worldly is stalking her every step of the way…
Slender: The Arrival focuses on placing players in a strange environment with nothing more than a camcorder and flashlight to guide the way. With visual capabilities at an all-time low, sound becomes an integral part of the experience, driving some players mad – and others to tears. Are you up to the challenge? Can you survive The Arrival?
Over on the PS Blog, Blue Isle Studios Founder Alex Tintor revealed that the game will be a roughly 650MB download, there won’t be a demo, “it’s too early for me to give a proper yes or no” about a potential PlayStation Vita version, and, when asked about a PlayStation 4 version, he said, “PS4 is something we are absolutely discussing amongst ourselves right now – although I can’t officially confirm anything at this point. If enough people ask for it, we’ll most definitely [put] that into consideration.”
Will you be turning off the lights and playing Slender: The Arrival later this month?
