Modder Turns PS4 Into a Laptop, Calls It the “Playbook 4”

Ever wanted a portable PlayStation 4? While this latest creation by hardware modder Eddie Zarick doesn’t exactly fit the bill, it’s possibly the best bet we have right now.

Zarick, who also created the “Xbook One,” which the name clearly gives away is a modded Xbox One, has turned a PS4 into a laptop called the “Playbook 4.” Zarick himself designed and 3D printed the casing you see in the video, it uses a 22-inch Vizio 1080p LED LCD display and is available for consumers for $1,395 (PS4 unit already included).

Unfortunately, the unit has no battery and still needs to be plugged into an outlet to work. But hey, it’s still way more portable than the PS4 is now, right?

You can place an order right here. If you provide the PS4, it will “only” cost you $1,095, but if you Zarick to acquire a PS4 and mod it, it’s a cool $1,395. The HDMI out port will cost you an extra $50. Just in case you’re thinking of getting one, there’s a $750 non-refundable deposit required, and the Playroom 4 itself will take 2-3 weeks to finish.

So, anyone getting this? Or should people considering this just bring their PS4s and a portable monitor in one bag to save money?
