Terra Battle Console Version in the Works as it Passes 2 Million Downloads

As part of a Download Starter campaign, Terra Battle developer Mistwalker revealed today that a console version of the game is in the works, following the game exceeding two million downloads across all platforms and territories since launch in October 2014.

A free-to-play tactical RPG currently available on iOS and Android, Terra Battle may not be getting a console version for some time, as Mistwalker wrote on their website:

In developing Terra Battle – a mobile game that players can download and play for free – our hope was to fill this project with our dreams. Reaching the two million downloads milestone is but a goal within a bigger goal.

We want to begin developing the console version of Terra Battle while still operating the mobile version that our fans will continue to love.

We may have a long way to go in terms of negotiations and such, but no matter what shape or form the outcome takes, we will strive to bring this dream-inspiring project to life.

Mistwalker Founder and Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi talked about reach two million downloads:

We are truly humbled to see Terra Battle achieve this milestone. As every player download expanded both the scope of our game and our imagination to create a richer experience for the fans. With the console game of Terra Battle underway and the next phase of the Download Starter campaign in motion, we are eager to see how the game will evolve in the coming months.

Mistwalker will also continue the Download Starter campaign, with future milestone rewards in the works.
