Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Detailed by Activision, Amazon Says It’s a Full-Priced Retail Game on PS4 & Xbox One

After it was unveiled on Tuesday, Activision and developers Robomodo and Disruptive Games officially announced today that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. A release is expected this year, with actual dates being shared “in the upcoming weeks.”

Retaining the “timeless, combo-driven energy and tightly designed levels of the Pro Skater games while expanding the experience with online play,” THPS5 includes a new set of levels with objectives, fine-tuned controls, and high-score tricks – including manuals and reverts. You’ll also find power-ups and projectiles to change up the gameplay.

As for the online functions, you can drop in and out of online skate sessions with friend and challengers, complete missions, unlock new content, level up online or offline, go head-to-head in competitive matches, and build and share your skateparks with the community.

In addition to playable skaters like Tony Hawk. Nyjah Houston, Chris Cole, and more, the ability to customize your own character is in THPS5.

Tony Hawk talked about the new game:

Skateboarding has always been about the freedom of ripping with your friends, and creating a game that captures that feeling has been a vision of mine since the Pro Skater series began over 15 years ago. I’m beyond excited to see that dream finally come true with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, which takes the old-school attitude of the original games online in a big way.

While it’s still early and subject to change, Amazon’s listing for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 puts the PS4/One versions at $59.99 and the PS3/360 at $39.99. Amazon also says there are over 80 unique missions across eight environments to complete.
