PS4 Owns 70 Percent Share of Total Market Now-Gen Sales in Italy

While there’s no doubt that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is selling like hotcakes, it seems the console has now tallied an enormous lead over its rival the Xbox One in Italy.

According to Sony, PS4 sales is dominating the console market in Italy with an impressive 70 percent market share for now-gen (PS4, Xbox One and Wii U) platforms. Comparing it to the PS3, the PS4 is selling 60 percent faster in the same time frame.

Also of note, PlayStation Plus subscriptions are also enjoying a healthy attach rate in Italy, with 50 percent of PS4 owners said to be PS+ members. Of course, this shouldn’t really be shocking news by now. Earlier this month, we reported that the PS4 has already moved over two million units in the UK — a milestone it reached faster than the PS2.

With E3 just a month away, expect Sony to announce other impressive PS4 sales stats during its media briefing, which PlayStation LifeStyle will be attending.
