Amazon will be having a huge sale on July 15, called Prime Day, where Amazon Prime users will be able to take advantage of a number of discounted products. In a direct stab at Amazon, Walmart has announced that it will also be launching a major sale this week.
In a statement on the Walmart website, CEO Fernando Madeira announced the savings event, saying that Walmart won’t be asking customers “to pay extra in order to save money,” clearly referencing Amazon.
We’ve heard some retailers are charging $100 to get access to a sale. But the idea of asking customers to pay extra in order to save money just doesn’t add up for us.
We’re standing up for our customers and everyone else who sees no rhyme or reason for paying a premium to save.
What will actually be on sale was not released, but keep an eye out this week for discounted prices at Walmart. And remember to check out the Amazon sale on July 15, if you have Amazon Prime.
