In a press release, Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia talked about Nuketown, which is the most popular multiplayer map in Black Ops series history:
The Nuketown maps have a special place in Call of Duty multiplayer history and we can’t wait to build upon that heritage in Black Ops III. We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place.
Activision adds that Nuketown is “suitable for all game types.”
Confirming the previous leak on the Brazilian PlayStation Store, Activision has announced that the Nuketown bonus map will be available to anyone who pre-orders Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
A close-quarters multiplayer map, here’s what you need to know about Nuketown:
This fan favorite map from Black Ops has returned in a big way for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It has been re-designed from the ground up to highlight Treyarch’s new momentum-based, chained-movement system, allowing players to battle in this adrenaline-charged new NUK3TOWN map. Set in the year 2065, players will experience a fresh take on this classic run-and-gun, close-quarters multiplayer map.
Activision adds, “Players who pre-order will receive the NUK3TOWN Bonus Map, available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via in-box redemption code.”
Just like the beta, Nuketown won’t be available on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 releases on November 6 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
