Report: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Metal Gear Online to Be Playable at TGS 2015

Looking forward to the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Metal Gear Online component? If so, our first taste of it might be just around the corner — at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, to be precise.

Over on Twitter, the official Konami account tweeted:

TGS 2015 will feature the world’s first playable demo kiosks for MGSV MGO allowing 16 players to play at once.

Now, before you get excited at the prospect of seeing gameplay of MGSV Metal Gear Online (or Metal Gear Online 3 for some) at TGS 2015, Konami, for some reason, deleted the tweet, which could mean that the tweet is wrong and that Metal Gear Online won’t be making an appearance at TGS, or the announcement was done accidentally, and Konami will announce it formally at a later date.

However, the YouTube live-stream link — which you can see above — is still online and tells people to “watch the live stream” on September 17 — which is exactly when TGS 2015 starts, so chances are, this is the real deal.

We’ve reached out to Konami to see what the real story is, and will update the post if and when they reply.

Will Metal Gear Online miss its projected October release date? Let’s hope not. In the meantime, what do you want to see improved in MGSV Metal Gear Online?
