Despite dropping 78% over week 1, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was able to claim first place for a second straight week. For comparison, the average week 1 to week 2 decline for the other Top 10 biggest launches so far this year (which includes Mad Max) is 67%.
Looking at the new releases, Super Mario Maker was strong in 2nd place and had the 4th best launch for a Wii U title (behind Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, and Nintendo Land), while Sony’s Tearaway Unfolded debuted in 33rd, finishing behind Far Cry 4 in the chart.
