Sony Santa Monica and Plastic Studios Announce Bound for PS4

Not to be confused with Boundless or Paperbound, developer Plastic Studios (Linger in Shadows, Datura) announced Bound for PlayStation 4 today.

Bound is described as a 3D platformer designed for people who wish to concentrate on the narrative side of games and experience a mature story, while also offering up a challenge for hardcore gamers in the form of one big puzzle that can only be solved by a community of players working together. As Game Director Michal Staniszewski adds, “The result: we are going to deliver a “notgame” to you, which is also a game. It’s up to you to decide how you would like to play.”

As for the main character, Bound stars a ballerina with a rich personality who brings beauty to moves and exploration. Thanks to their dancer and her choreographer, Plastic Studios was “able to capture some true expressive and emotional moments and put it into our game.”

Finally, Staniszewski said the procedural 3D platforming world would run at 1080p/60fps, with the team spending more than a year on optimizations.

Developed in collaboration with Sony Santa Monica, Bound is the game that was teased earlier this week.

So far, there is no release window for Bound.
