The PlayStation LifeStyle “Best of 2015 Game Awards” continue! Yesterday we announced the best casual game of 2015, a genre filled with vibrant titles looking to entertain a fast-growing demographic. Today we’ll be naming the best racing game of 2015.
Competition in the racing scene has been heated, both on the track and in the streets, leading to a very close finish. Racing fans have had plenty of great titles to choose, with the PlayStation 4’s hardware being pushed hard to keep up with the most demanding visuals and performance.
Check out the gallery below for our nominees for the best racing game of 2015, and of course, the winner, too. In case you’re wondering, the winner is decided by the staff (staff votes) and not just based on the game with the highest review score.
Do you agree with our pick? Which game is your best racing title for 2015? Stay tuned tomorrow for another category award!

Need for Speed
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Ghost Games
"I enjoyed my time with Need for Speed. Ghost Games is onto something seriously promising with this franchise reboot. However, being unable to pause the game as well as no option to play offline may prove two obstacles that are not surmountable for some players. It’s a sign of things to come, perhaps, but as of right now these decisions may alienate a lot of players. The majority of us will be fine, and the promise of no micro-transactions is a lofty one to see a publisher as micro-trigger-happy as EA support. Every Need for Speed game from this point forward needs this level of customization and tweaking as a baseline. I eagerly await to see Ghost Games’ future plans for this franchise, if they’re allowed the opportunity to continue."

Project CARS
Publisher: Slightly Mad Studios
Developer: Slightly Mad Studios
"Project CARS is a great example of a game that is designed to get players to be better at what they love to do, without having to integrate designs that can hurts the game’s potential for its hardcore audience. It does a good job with its visuals, a fantastic one with its audio, and a superb one with how it handles. For fans who love a sport that requires its athletes to work for every fraction of a second shaved off, this is a must have, but if you need a game that keeps giving you motivation and something to unlock, you may find yourself putting this one in park after a few laps."
