Siralim Headed to PS4 & PS Vita on February 9, 2016 in North America, May Not Release in Europe at All

Previously announced for release on all three PlayStation platforms this year, Siralim from Thylacine Studios is now just coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with launch scheduled for February 9, 2016 in North America. It will include cross-buy on both platforms.

Along with dropping the PlayStation 3 version, Thylacine said they’re unable to bring the game to Europe. In a statement to The Vita Lounge, Founder Zack Bertok said, “The process of submitting our game to PlayStation turned out to be much longer and more tedious than we ever expected.”

They’ve been working on the PlayStation version almost every day since first contacting Sony in May 2015, but all the paperwork for registering through multiple PlayStation services, setting up metadata, and the QA process have delayed the game.

He added:

Our original release date was September 8, which was then pushed back to December 15 and now February 2016… We ended up having no time to even think about launching in the European region. Everything I mentioned above would need to be done all over again, as the North American and European stores operate independently from each other.

On Twitter, Thylacine said, “Siralim 2 is in the works and we’ll [definitely] try to get that one to all regions.” They’re also going to talk to Sony about what it takes to get the first game in Europe.
