Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Hotfix Today Fixes Awakening Exploits, Double Weapon XP Incoming

After releasing update 1.05 and the Awakening DLC earlier this week on PlayStation 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 developer Treyarch added a new hotfix today to fix some issues reported by players.

According to Studio Design Director David Vonderhaar, hotfix 48.4.12.5.0 on PS4 today addressed “Uplink and Safeguard spawn edits. Hit Indicator. DLC map exploits. UI errors. ZM stuff.” He then added that there will be “more later.”

On Twitter yesterday, Vonderhaar responded to concerns over matchmaking changes, saying they haven’t done anything:

We aren’t futzing around on this stuff. It’s a big game with a big community and we are @Treyarch. You know how we do.

I’ll say it one time and one time only. We haven’t changed matchmaking. At all. What you think you feel is fragmentation. People who have the DLC get matched to other people who have the DLC. This is typically more engaged/active players. Period.

When asked about a potential double XP event from February 5 – 8, Vonderhaar said it would be for double weapon XP. Stay tuned for full details when they’re available.
