In a new update to the PlayStation Network Status Page, Sony has confirmed that there will be PSN maintenance on Wednesday, March 2, for approximately two hours.
Saying it will affect PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Web, and Other, here’s when the PSN maintenance is scheduled to take place on March 2:
- Starts – 9:30pm
- Ends – 11:30pm
Time zones weren’t specified on the US PSN Status Page, and the UK PSN Status Page says the maintenance will also take place from 9:30pm – 11:30pm.
As Sony explained, Account Management, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Video will be unavailable during the maintenance. They also hinted at the downtime affecting PlayStation 4 as well:
Routine maintenance and improvements for PlayStation Network will be performed for approximately 2 hours on 03/02/2016, 9:30 PM to 03/02/2016, 11:30 PM.
Anyone who already has an account can still sign in to their PlayStation Network profile, play games, and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out. You will not be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Video during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We recommend activating your PS4 as your primary console before maintenance begins so you can continue to play most games and use 3rd party services during maintenance. To activate your console, sign in to your PlayStation Network profile and select [Settings] > [PlayStation Network/Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate]. You only need to do this once.
We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.
If you missed the news yesterday, sign ups are now live for the PS4 firmware update 3.50 beta.
