Naughty Dog Will Resurrect The Last of Us 2 Prototypes After Uncharted 4’s DLC Is Done

After rumors of The Last of Us 2 began to surface last year, Naughty Dog Creative Director Neil Druckmann cleared everything up by saying they were “brainstorming ideas” for a new The Last of Us and other games, but after moving over to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, work on those prototypes was suspended.

In a new interview with GamesRadar, Druckmann reiterated that he and Game Director Bruce Straley were “working on prototypes for different ideas within The Last Of Us universe” before jumping to Uncharted 4. So, when will they revive work on a potential new TLOU? According to Druckmann, it won’t happen until after they’re done with Uncharted 4’s single-player DLC:

Our next focus is the single-player DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we’re at, see where the teams at, what they’re excited for and go from there.

Back in November, Naughty Dog hadn’t even begun to think about what the single-player DLC is, but with Uncharted 4 having gone gold, work should begin soon.
