June 2016 NPD: PS4 Was the #1 Selling Console Yet Again

Making it eight months in a row, Sony announced today that the PlayStation 4 was the #1 selling console of June 2016 in the United States, based on NPD data.

As in recent months, Sony didn’t offer a statement about their latest victory.

Because the NPD is now tracking digital game sales, the full June 2016 report won’t be released until next week, where we’ll learn the top 10 selling games and how much money each category made.

In the meantime, Microsoft revealed that more than 1.2 billion hours were played on Xbox One last month – a record for the platform and double what they saw a year ago. Nintendo, meanwhile, announced that 3DS sales jumped 39% in June, Kirby: Planet Robobot finished in 4th on the NPD’s retail chart for the month, and Super Smash Bros sales have reached a combined five million in the US on Wii U (two million) and 3DS (three million).

Do you think Uncharted 4 will repeat on the June chart? Where do you think Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will place?
