No Man's Sky Exploit

Farm the Rarest Items With This No Man’s Sky Exploit

No Man’s Sky has only been out in the wild for a couple of days, but that’s all gamers needed to find a glitch that allows for nearly unlimited farming of some of the rarest resources in the game.

As you can see from our No Man’s Sky review, the game has a heavy emphasis upon gathering resources and crafting items. By exploiting this glitch, harvesting the most valuable items, such as Atlas Stones, can be done in a snap. Players have reported being able to farm five Atlas Stones in 30 minutes with this method, which would normally take at least five hours if not more. Once a player harvests so many Atlas Stones, the secret ending of the game starts to unveil.

To farm Atlas Stones in record time, players must “trick” the game into thinking that they have not recovered their inventory from their grave after death. After a player dies in their ship, they can reclaim their ship’s inventory from their grave. However, if you reload a previous save, you can get your inventory back as well as access your grave, which doubles what you had at the time of your death.

The developers released a day-one patch that halts some of the record speedruns players were able to make, but an additional patch will be needed to stop this exploit as well.
