During Sony’s PlayStation Meeting today, Sony boss Andrew House announced that the PS4 Pro will have two apps supporting 4K, and they are Netflix and YouTube.
So if you’re one of the many who use your PS4 as a media center of sorts, you’ll be able to stream 4K content right away. Unfortunately, no release date has been given. If I had to wager a guess, it should be available when PS4 Pro is out on retail stores. While it might not be a big deal for some, you’re at least guaranteed something 4K to run on your brand new console if you buy one come November.
