Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Adds Online Split-Screen

Electronic Arts has been adding new content to Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 ever since it came out in February, and that trend continues today. The publisher announced that the latest update, called Frontline Fighters, is available starting today. This adds a little bit of everything content-wise from characters to maps, but the biggest addition is the ability to play online multiplayer in split-screen. Check out the trailer embedded above to see it in action.

Here’s how Electronic Arts describes the fifth major update to Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2:

Available today, Frontline Fighters introduces fun, all-new ways to play the craziest shooter in the galaxy, including the #1 fan-requested feature: online split-screen play! Players can now join a friend or family member on the couch in split-screen and enjoy fast-paced, over-the-top multiplayer fun in 14 game modes and 17 massive multiplayer maps. Also new to Frontline Fighters is the brand new map Frontline Flats, two new characters and two new Legendary characters.

EA also revealed that a new holiday-themed version of the game is available to buy digitally. Called Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2: Festive Edition, this limited-release features the core game and all of its updates release so far. It costs £34.99, and comes with “immediate access to two new Legendary character variants, one festive holiday customization pack, and 200,000 in-game coins to spend at the Sticker Shop on new characters, customization items, or consumables.”
