Someone from Microsoft’s biggest (then) first-party studios is making a jump to the PlayStation family! Stuart Whyte, the former Studio Director at Lionhead Studios (Fable) before it closed down, is joining PlayStation’s London Studio as the head of VR Product Development.
Whyte, who’s been working in the video game industry for over 25 years, has also held senior spots at Micropose, Bullfrog, Wildebeetle and at Supermassive Games (Until Dawn). In a statement to Games Industry, Whyte said:
I’m super excited to be joining the London team to lead them further on their journey to becoming the world’s leading AAA, VR Team
Sony’s London Studio has been at the forefront of Sony’s experimental and early projects, with games like Wonderbook, The Playroom, EyePet as some of the studio’s most notable releases. Sony London Studio also developed PlayStation VR Worlds, which offered bite-sized VR experiences that was available during the headset’s launch.
