Madden NFL Developer Shot Dead Following Altercation Outside a Restaurant Last Weekend

EA Tiburon developer Jon Sullivan has passed away after being shot multiple times last weekend in a parking lot outside a restaurant in Ocala, Florida.

According to news reports, 27-year old Sullivan and 23-year old Robert Bavle got into an argument following which the developer waited for the shooter outside the restaurant and attacked him when he stepped out. Initially, Bavle may have acted in self-defense but it turned into a second-degree murder charge because Sullivan walked away and was chased down and shot. It’s unclear what sparked the argument. Witnesses say Bavle was held at gunpoint by another member of the public following the shooting until police arrived.

“Sullivan ran and Bavle ran after him and continued shooting while standing over Sullivan, who had fallen to the ground,” writes the Ocala StarBanner. While the developer succumbed to his injuries, Bavle was arrested and his bail was set at $50,000, which has since been denied by a judge.

In a statement to Polygon, an EA Tiburon spokesman said:

We are all shocked and deeply saddened by Jon Sullivan’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Sully was a much-loved member of our team at EA Tiburon, and his presence will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts go out to Sullivan’s friends and family.
