SteamWorld Dig 2 Comes to PS4 & PC Later This Year

Image & Form Games has announced that SteamWorld Dig 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in late summer/early fall 2017. Those two versions should launch within days of the previously announced Nintendo Switch version.

After mentioning that “Switch is still the main platform,” and the new versions won’t delay the game on Switch, Image & Form said, “Dig 2 is pretty much finished now, but we’ll take a few more months to polish the game to the level you all expect.

The price and exact release date will be revealed some time after Image & Form returns from vacation.

Here’s the description for SteamWorld Dig 2:

Grab your pickaxe and dig into the sequel to the award-winning SteamWorld Dig! A platform mining adventure forged in Metroidvania flames.

In search of her lost friend, a lone steambot and her unlikely companion must dig deep, gain riches and explore an underworld riddled with danger. But time is running short…

If you’re hoping for a PS Vita or 3DS version of SteamWorld Dig 2, Image and Form said the handhelds are “still important to us,” and “we won’t talk more about portable versions today, but rest assured we have not forgotten where we came from.”
