City Shrouded in Shadow - Ultraman Taro, Zero, Belial

Through this week’s Weekly Famitsu magazine, Bandai Namco and Granzella have revealed new information about their upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive game Kyoei Toshi –also known as City Shrouded in Shadow– which will be released later this month in Japan. Three more Ultraman characters are introduced in this batch: Ultraman Taro, Ultraman Zero, and Ultraman Belial. They join the original Ultraman, Fake Ultraman, and Ultraman Tiga which had been revealed previously.

Ultraman Taro is the titular hero of the sixth Ultra Series show that originally aired in 1973. Meanwhile, Ultraman Zero first appeared in the 2009 movie Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend before starring in his own movie Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial in 2010. Considered to be one of the strongest Ultraman heroes, Zero does not have his own TV show as of yet, but he will be appearing in City Shrouded in Shadow together with his archnemesis Ultraman Belial.

City Shrouded in Shadow is a survival action-adventure game which is being developed by Granzella of Disaster Report series fame. In this game, the player is an ordinary human who lives in a city where fights between giant heroes, monsters, or robots will take place, and they will get caught in the middle of those fights. The main objective of the game will be to avoid the fights and the resulting debris, and escape to a safe place.

This game will be released on October 19 in Japan. However, chances for any foreign localizations appear to be slim, as this game requires licensing from multiple famous Japanese IPs such as Ultraman, Godzilla, Gamera, MothraNeon Genesis EvangelionMobile Police Patlabor, and more.
