Raiders of the Broken Planet Update Changes Economy, With More Updates Coming

MercurySteam announced today that Raiders of the Broken Planet will be receiving a brand new economy update, dramatically altering the way a majority of players play the game. This update, MercurySteam says, is meant to balance out the economy due to the various players who play the game.

While you can get a more in-depth look at the update in the video above, the gist of it is pretty simple: players who own or download the free Prologue to the game can now use Gold, Faction Points, and Character Points to unlock new characters, build weapons from blueprints, and unveil pieces of lore. Essentially, the free Prologue now grants players most of the economic abilities of the full game. MercurySteam also announced that this is just the first of many changes coming to the game in the next few weeks, so it seems as if the developers have a plan on how to continue updating the game going forward.

For those unaware of the format of Raiders, the game’s first two campaigns, the free Prologue and the $9.99 Alien Myths, released earlier this week, with three more campaigns coming at regular intervals: Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal, and Council’s Apocalypse. Each campaign aims to tell a new story that runs parallel with the others, but focuses on different members of the Raiders. Campaigns will continue to cost $9.99 individually, though players can purchase a Founders Pack for $39.99 that includes every campaign on launch, as well as three additional players 10 days prior to release.

Raiders of the Broken Planet is available now PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
