A new, free Amazon Alexa Skill has launched as part of the marketing campaign for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This application puts Alexios, one of the protagonists of the game, in charge of your Amazon Echo setup. It lets you get hints for the game, in addition to all the other weird Alexa stuff you’re probably accustomed to if you own an Echo.
Ubisoft released a silly trailer for the app, which you can watch right here:
Aside from the various responses and tongue-in-cheek humor, which totals at about 1,500 phrases overall, the app is intended to be a companion for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It will allow players to access supplemental information on the game, all without having to divert their attention elsewhere.
Once the game launches on October 2, 2018, for those who purchase early access rights, that companion aspect of the Skill will unlock. For the time being, you’ll have to be okay with making small talk with Alexios about the weather.
If you don’t have an Amazon Echo device, Ubisoft is holding a giveaway for a limited number of special edition Echo Plus models. These models are designed to look like a Spartan helmet.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be released on October 5, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC. Gold, Collectors, and the Ultimate Editions all give people early access on October 2nd.
