Get an Idea of What You Can Expect From Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Heist and Control Modes

Black Ops 4

Dan Bunting, Treyarch’s Co-Studio Head, sat down in a behind-the-scenes trailer to discuss the new multiplayer modes within Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Think of it as an opportunity to learn what the Heist and Control modes will be like in this installment.

Treyarch’s Bunting said,

Our weapons philosophy with Black Ops has always been: the gun really is an extension of the player. We’ve put a lot of energy into making sure that each gun has its own identity.

Bunting also discussed Specialists, and how you can either adopt a certain role within your team if you so choose, or go solo and take matters into your own hands with the more individual-focused Specialist classes.

Here are some of the modes you can expect to see:

Control:

  • Each team tries to capture two objectives per round. The first team to win three rounds wins the game.

Heist:

  • In this game mode, you can start off with either a rocket launcher, a pistol, or your own fists. You get one life, but can be revived by other players if you’re killed. The focus on this mode is team dependancy while you focus on your objective.

Bunting also emphasized Call of Duty‘s continuation of lightning-paced gameplay mechanics.

The secret sauce with Call of Duty is the tightest, fastest, most fluid experience that you can have in first-person-shooters. …there is a depth that you can learn and master over time, and I think that’s a core part of Call of Duty’s success.

Fluidity seems to be a key focus in this Call of Duty title. Does this line up with what you expected for Black Ops 4? Let us know in the comments.
