Call of Duty games have become far more of a collaborative endeavor every year, and this year’s Call of Duty actually sees Treyarch returning to develop the Zombies experience, despite Sledgehammer being the lead studio on the game. While we’ve seen plenty of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s campaign and multiplayer thus far, the Zombies mode has remained largely under wraps. That all changes this Thursday, October 14th, when the full Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies reveal shows what Treyarch’s been up to.
The Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies reveal is taking place on October 14 at 8 am Pacific.
There are three different teasers for the upcoming Vanguard Zombies reveal, though none really show off a lot.
First up is the main Call of Duty account:

What we know about Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies so far is that Treyarch is continuing the Dark Aether saga from Black Ops Cold War, but this will be a prequel of sorts, telling the story from long before the current storyline. Season Six just recently concluded the Dark Aether saga (for now) with the latest round-based Zombies map, Forsaken. Aside from that, they’ve been keeping a pretty tight lid on what the new Zombies experience will entail.
One of the most interesting elements will be bringing Zombies into the new engine that Vanguard is using—an evolution of the engine first developed for Modern Warfare 2019, and the engine that will facilitate better parity with the upcoming Warzone changes. Black Ops Cold War ran on a different engine, so expect Vanguard Zombies to feel different and do some unique things. The intention seems to be to use this engine as a foundation for future interconnected Call of Duty experiences.
