Assassins Creed Valhalla File Size

Next Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Title Update Will Restructure Data and Reduce File Sizes on All Platforms

The next Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update will consolidate the game files, meaning the game’s overall file size will be reduced on all platforms. Title update 1.4.1 will be focusing on data restructuring rather than bug fixes and gameplay improvements.

The catch with this update is that players will have the redownload the entire game when the patch is released at some point next week. Players will not have to redownload any of the DLC expansions though. However, it does mean players will find the game’s performance is improved with faster loading times, better world data streaming, and a quicker overall runtime performance.

PlayStation 4 players will get a 67 GB update, leaving them with a game that takes up around 75 GB of hard drive space. This means the game’s file size will have been reduced by around 30 GB. The results on the PlayStation 5 aren’t quite as dramatic. PS5 players will get a 40 GB update, meaning their game will take up around 77 GB of hard drive space instead. This is a reduction in file size of around 13 GB.

Title update 1.4.1 will also make it easier for Ubisoft to continue supporting Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with future content and game updates. They have said there will be more details on the exact content of the patch and its release date soon. There are rumors that the future content will include a new DLC due to be released later this month after a reveal at The Game Awards tomorrow. Following that, there is also supposed to be a “massive, God of War-style” expansion due to be released in March 2022. The latter is expected to add around 40 hours of gameplay, but like all rumors, we’ll take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Meanwhile, the most recent update added the puzzle-focused Tombs of the Fallen and the Oskoreia Festival in-game event. There were also plenty of gameplay improvements and bug fixes, including the restoration of haptic feedback on PS5 after it went missing when version 1.3.2 was released.
