Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Apparently Spotted on PSN Server

Twitter user PlayStation Game Size, who needs no introduction at this point, has once again scraped PlayStation Network servers for information about upcoming games. This time, they’ve found an entry for Cyberpunk 2077‘s PlayStation 5 version, complete with a new piece of artwork.

CD Projekt RED hasn’t officially announced Cyberpunk 2077‘s next-gen release date so when we’ll see the game’s PS5 version is anybody’s guess, but PlayStation Game Size is speculating a release window of mid February to early March.

Will Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 version release soon?

The PSN back-end sometimes contains information about upcoming games well in advance of their release dates. Cyberpunk 2077‘s PS5 entry doesn’t necessarily mean that it’ll be out as soon as this month. However, CD Projekt RED did previously promise a Q1 2022 release window so the next-gen version should be out before the end of March.

In its most recent financial report, the studio indicated that both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3‘s next-gen versions are on track to meet their new release windows. They were previously delayed upon development teams’ recommendations after the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077‘s last-gen versions, which resulted in the game being de-listed from the PlayStation Store.

“Apologies for the extended wait, but we want to make it right,” CD Projekt RED said of the delay in October 2021, evidently having learned somewhat of a lesson from the year prior.

Opinion: Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 version better be good

Zarmena writes… I’ve held off on playing Cyberpunk 2077 in order to jump straight into the next-gen version. It’s clear that the game simply wasn’t made for last-gen consoles but CD Projekt RED continued to mislead everyone anyway. It left a bit of a sour taste especially because I love the studio’s work, so I sincerely hope it’s able to redeem itself with a fantastic PS5 and Xbox Series X release.

In other news, Star Wars Eclipse is reportedly inspired by The Last of Us and Scarlet Nexus devs want to make a mature sequel.
