Assassin’s Creed Origins 60 FPS Patch for PS5 Is Seemingly Coming Next Week

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Origins looks set to receive a 60 frames-per-second update on PS5 next week. The patch’s release date has not been officially confirmed by Ubisoft yet. However, with its appearance in the PSN database, it’s probably just around the corner.

Assassin’s Creed Origins PS5 patch details have yet to be released

The update’s pending arrival were discovered by the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size. The user is known for discovering hidden secrets within the PlayStation store. According to their findings, patch 1.60 will include a “higher framerate when running on PlayStation 5 console” and a “franchise menu.”

Assassin’s Creed Origins is not the first game in the series Ubisoft has added a PS5 update to after its release. Last year, the ancient Greece setting of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey received a 60 FPS boost. That update also included a franchise menu, as is found in the Origins patch notes. In Odyssey, the franchise menu allows players to access other Assassin’s Creed games on the fly, so expect the same to come to Origins with this update.

The ancient Egypt-set Assassin’s Creed Origins was released in 2017. The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal — the team also behind the more recent Valhalla. It was the first game after the series took a two-year break and introduced many of the RPG elements seen in the franchise today.

In other news, Santa Monica Studio has announced accessibility options for God of War: Ragnarok, including sound effect captions and caption background blur. Spec Ops: The Line writer Walt Williams, who was previously the lead writer of Wolverine at Insomniac Games, has been promoted to the narrative director on the upcoming PS5 exclusive. The PS5 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt now has an official release window from developers CD Projekt Red.
