FromSoftware Job Listing Hints at Armored Core 6

A new FromSoftware job listing has hinted at the Armored Core 6, with the Elden Ring developer looking for a Character Designer to help work on designs for an as-yet-unannounced game involving mechs.

Armored Core 6 job listing asks for mecha designs

The new listing was posted on FromSoftware’s careers page (via Tech4Gamers), revealing details regarding the role that certainly point to the dev working on a new game in the sci-fi series:

You will be in charge of a wide range of designs related to characters and mecha.

Rather than simply drawing pictures and illustrations, my job is to dig deep into the concept and design the information to express it in pictures.

FromSoftware working on a new Armored Core has been heavily rumored for a while now, with a consumer survey back in January allegedly leaking a number of details about the game, including screenshots and gameplay footage. The studio confirmed it was working on a sequel way back in 2016, but details have been slim pickings since then.

The last entry in the mainline Armored Core series was released all the way back in 2012, and since then FromSoftware has become one of the most popular developers in gaming, with Elden Ring being their most critically acclaimed and commercially successful release to date. It has been rumored that the next Armored Core will closely follow the Souls formula and that it will feature an “overwhelmingly scaled map” that certainly sounds like it borrows from Elden Ring.
