Call of Duty 2024 Could Still Release on PS4 – Report

Call of Duty 2024 could be arriving on PS4, according to a new report based on documents from a data breach from Activision in December 2022. Earlier this month, it was reported that a new Call of Duty game that is in some way connected to Modern Warfare would release this year on PS5 and PS4. There were apparently rumors that this would be the last game that CoD would be on PS4, but it looks like there’s a good chance that Call of Duty 2024 could still make it to last-gen consoles.

How likely will Call of Duty 2024 be on PS4?

Insider Gaming was able to divulge that Call of Duty 2024, codenamed Cerberus, might be coming to PS4, though the outlet decided not to share too much information from the breach.

However, some of the information from the breach that was made public on Twitter had since changed, so it’s possible that the plans for a PS4 version of Call of Duty 2024 could have been nixed.

On the other hand, Activision has made developing Call of Duty games easier by having all studios on the franchise work on the same engine. So this would be make it rather simple for Call of Duty 2024 to release on PS4, thereby expanding the game’s userbase without too much effort.

Last week, Activision Blizzard received some criticism for forcing employees back to the office. A UK regulator also suggested that Call of Duty be split from Activision for the Microsoft-Activision merger to go through.
