Developer GSC Game World announced its PS5 first-person shooter survival horror game, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl (stylized S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl), is getting brand new content in its next update. The best part is fans won’t have to wait long to check out the new quests and features the update has to offer.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl gets free story content very soon
On December 16, the Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl content update titled Stories Untold will release for PS5. Here is everything included in the upcoming update:
- 8 quests that can take hours to complete
- 7 locations to explore
- 6 characters with their own backgrounds and stories
- A unique weapon
- A hub to create
The new quest is about a strange signal reported by research groups that has caused headaches, nose bleeds, and hallucinations for stalkers skulking around the Zone. An emergency transmission regarding the quest can be heard from almost anywhere in the Zone and will begin around the Red Forest Region.
The new Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl content update also includes a modified version of the GP37 rifle called the GP37V2. This version of the rifle comes pre-installed with a suppressor and low-magnification scope. It can be fired in single and burst fire modes.
The new locations and places in the new Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl content update include the Fairy Tale Pioneer Camp and Old Mine in Red Forest. Also, some locations are now inhabited by stalkers. Depending on choices made in the new story, a new hub area can open in the Burnt Forest, and will include a technician, trader, medic, guide, and a place to nap.
When Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was originally released last year, it was met with average scores. According to the review aggregate website Metacritic, it received an average score of 73. The game is available to purchase on the PlayStation Store now for $59.99 and is PS5 Pro enhanced.
