Aspyr Media announced that Deus Ex Remastered is delayed indefinitely. As a result, existing preorders will be fully refunded as a new release date was not revealed for the upcoming remaster.

Deus Ex Remastered PS Store refunds follow backlash over graphics and subsequent delay

Following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered during the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play, Aspyr Media received backlash over the look of the remaster. Here is what the company said in their statement regarding the delay:

“Thank you to the community for your feedback following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered. We’ve listened to what you said, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on Feb. 5, 2026. We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes.”

Fans looking forward to this project will have to remain patient, as a new release date has not been announced. The statement says they will share more updates “when the time comes.”

Deus Ex Remastered is developed and published by Aspyr Media, and is a remaster of the iconic 2000 action RPG, which was critically acclaimed when it was originally released for PC. Like many modern remasters, it includes visual enhancements and quality-of-life improvements, as well as controller support and ultrawide display support. Here is a description of the game, giving PlayStation players an idea of what to expect:

“The year is 2052. Societies are teetering on collapse, plagues spread unchecked, and shadow governments shape the future. You are JC Denton—a nano-augmented UNATCO operative tasked with protecting order. But the deeper you dig, the more lies you uncover. What begins as a mission becomes a fracture point in human history.”

Deus Ex Remastered can be added to wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
