PS4 game Yakuza 3 Remastered being delisted

Popular PS4 Adventure Game Being Delisted for No Good Reason

Sega has announced that its popular PS4 action adventure game will be delisted within a month, and for no good reason. 2020’s Yakuza 3 Remastered will no longer be available for stand-alone purchase, as it’ll be replaced by the modern re-release, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties on the PS4 and PS5.

Yakuza 3 Remastered PS4 will be delisted by February 12, players upset

Those who want to play the original game have until February 12 to purchase it from the PS Store for $19.99. After this, you can only buy the modern version unless you fork out $129.99 for the Yakuza Complete Series bundle.

Sega reckons that everyone will want to play the upcoming remake of Yakuza 3, and the original need not be sold individually. I guess the company wants to sell as many copies of the remake as it can, but I’m not sure how delisting the 2020 title will help.

You can read Sega’s full “explanation” for the removal below. As expected, players replying to the tweet aren’t thrilled.

Sega did something similar with Yakuza 0 back in December, which resulted in swift backlash. Players can now only purchase a Director’s Cut version of the game, which is exclusive to current-gen platforms and costs $50.
