Limited Run Games and Sony partner Implicit Conversions are bringing another pair of PS1 action games to PS5 and PS4. Fighting Force Collection is a compilation of 1997’s Fighting Force and its 1999 sequel, Fighting Force 2, made by the now-defunct studio Core Design.
PS1 games Fighting Force 1 and 2 return to PS5 and PS4 on January 23
Fighting Force Collection will launch tomorrow, January 23. Official overviews of both are as follows:
Fighting Force: This beat ’em up classic lets players become Hawk Manson, Mace Daniels, Alana McKendricks, or Ben “Smasher” Johnson as they fight to take down the evil Dr. Dex Zeng.
Fighting Force 2: In this game, players take the role of Hawk Manson, who is covertly investigating human cloning experiments by the Knackmiche Corporation.
Fighting Force games weren’t a hit with critics, but garnered a cult following. A third game was in the works for PS2 and Xbox, but was ultimately canceled.
Core Design was dissolved in 2010 after 37 years of operation and dozens of games. Besides Fighting Force, the developer made several Tomb Raider games.
A listing for Fighting Force Collection is now live on the PS Store. A price is not listed, but you can wishlist the game now.
